Grilled Veal Burgers with Caramelized onions and Jalapeños

Ingredients
  • For the Burgers:
  • 1 lb ground veal
  • ⅓ cup packed parsley
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • For the Onions:
  • 1 tb Olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion sliced
  • 1 small jalapeño
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional:
  • Feta cheese from sheep milk
  • Healthy burger buns (I used Ezekiel from Food For Life)
Instructions
  1. Add 1-2 tb of olive oil to a large skillet along with the sliced onions. Turn to medium heat stirring occasionally until onions become translucent for about 5 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat to medium low, stirring occasionally, until onions begin to brown for about 15 minutes.
  3. Add Jalapeños and stir for another 5 minutes.
  4. While the onions are browning, in a bowl mix the ground veal with the parsley, onions powder, garlic cloves, and sea salt. Use your hands lo mix everything well.
  5. Form round burger patties out of the meat.
  6. Heat skillet (or grill) to medium-high and cook patties for about 4 minutes on each side.
  7. Toast the buns and top burger with caramelized onions, jalapeños and feta cheese.
