Do I eat meat? I think this recipe pretty much is the answer. I do eat meat. I eat it when my body craves it and when my dad makes BBQ 🙂 . I almost never cook it at home because I’m not very good at cooking meat to be honest, except when it’s in burger form such as this recipe.
I didn’t eat red meat for a very long time before my pregnancy, but when I got pregnant I felt very sick and meat was one of the things I could actually stomach. Since then it has stayed that way. I eat it, but not in excess, less then once per week. Like I always say “it’s all about balance”.
Balance involves eating things in moderation but it also involves choosing quality stuff to make something that’s not so healthy a bit “healthier”. Like these lamb burgers, they are made with grass-fed meat. Grass-fed meat has more anti-inflammatory omega 3s, more vitamin E, and less saturated fats. So, it you ask me, it’s worth the extra bucks.
Aside from the fact that these are made with grass-fed meat, my other favorite thing about them is that you can make them for the whole family and I guarantee, everyone will love it. If you follow me on instagram you have probably noticed I’m a fan of meals that my 1 year old, my husband and I can all eat. Because let’s face it, nobody has time to prepare different meals for everyone. So, if Alessia loves it, it’s a winner and these are a WINNER.
- 1 lb grassfed lamb
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tb minced fresh mint
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix evenly
- Make burger shaped and cook on medium high heat in a non stick pan (about 5 minutes per side) OR freeze individually for future meal.
